Why AI Is Making Every Loan Officer Look the Same

AI is here, and looking at recent developments, it’s only going to get better and better. So loan officers are looking at all the ways they can use it, and I think that’s great. AI is a very useful tool for work.

But loan officers overlook a big mistake that may cost them. If you carefully avoid it, you’ll end up saving yourself the trouble in the future.

Letting AI replace you completely is a mistake. Go on your social feeds, and you see AI images, AI clones, and AI messages all around. It gets annoying, right? You can probably think of a bunch of examples right now that drive you nuts. Loan officers who run all their marketing, all their messaging, and all their images through AI, trying to create a clone of themselves so they can be everywhere, are making a huge mistake.

Doing the wrong thing everywhere still doesn’t work. I understand why you do it. It’s fast, it’s simple, and it can post everywhere. But posting the wrong thing in every direction won’t get you the results you want.

The market is already swinging back toward realism. When the pendulum goes hard in one direction, it comes back the other way. So while everybody is going to AI, people are starting to crave the opposite. They crave realism. That’s why many content creators are avoiding the use of AI to replace them and leaning into realism instead.

AI should supplement you, not be you. Use it to research and to come up with ideas. But choose ‘you’ when creating the messaging. Record the videos yourself, so they see you. Build strong relationships with your Realtors, your referral partners, and your borrowers through you, not with an AI.

So when everybody else is zigging, you need to zag. Avoid this common mistake I keep seeing because the one thing that sets you apart is you.
